Helen "Ann" Keesee Tajchman died Friday, July 16, 1999, in a local hospital after a courageous fight with cancer.

Funeral mass was held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 19, 1999 at Holy Family Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Msgr. Frederick Nawarskas and directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701U.S. Hwy 277 South. Burial was at the Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery. A visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Ann was born in Jones County, February 6, 1938. She married Clarence Tajchman in Abilene on June 7, 1968. Ann graduated from Lueders High School and received a B.A. in Busiiness from McMurry University. She retired from teaching in May of 1999 after teaching for 30 years in Lueders, Roscoe, Clyde and Hawley, Texas.

Ann was a professional teacher admired and loved by her many students as she had yearbooks dedicated to her, and awards of appreciation by her fellow faculty members as well as her students. She was awarded 1996 Teacher of the Year. Ann was a dedicated teacher giving timeless hours as senior class sponsor numerous times and as yearbook sponsor for many years. She was in charge of the PALS Program and available for whatever jobs needed to be done. She was a tireless volunteer and a member of many teacher's organizations.

Ann was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Joseph, Jr. and her father, George W. Keesee.

Survivors include her husband of Abilene, Texas; a daughter, Clarissa and husband Kelle Kapke of Abilene; a daughter, Angela and husband Ryan Friedrichsen of Wichita, Kansas; two grandchildren, Kailee and Cameron Kapke of Abilene; her mother, Dolly Keesee of Abilene; three brothers, George, Bob, and Mack Keesee of Abilene; and four sisters, Emma Lee Middleton of Hawley, Maudene Gilbreath of Abilene, Dolly Dodgen of Snyder, and Patsy Fuqua of Arlington, Texas.

Pallbearers were her nephews.
