Obituary - Luther Cicero "L.C." Swinson

Luther Cicero (L.C.) Swinson, 72, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at his home in Breckenridge, Texas.

After a brief, private viewing, he was cremated, under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home in Breckenridge.

L.C. was born April 3, 1932 in Cisco to Cicero Van and Emmie Reeves Swinson.

He started school at Morton Valley, north of Eastland and graduated from Lueders High School.

He served the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge, he worked in the oil fields around Anson, Texas for several years. Later, he moved to Eastland and worked for Lone Star Gas Company. For a time, he operated heavy equipment in the construction business. An excellent mechanic, he opened his own shop in Eastland, Swinson Automovtive.

After retiring he moved to Breckenridge.

L.C. was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mardell Trout and sister Lavada, who died only five days earlier.

His survivors include his wife, Jerry of the home and sons Johnny of the home and Randy Swinson, and wife Carmen, of Joshua,, Tx. Two daughters, Deboroh Robinson and husband, Alan of Breckenridge and Tonja Parnell and husband, Terry, of Athens, Tx. Also, one brother, Homer Swinson and wife, Torchy of Stanton, sisters Patsy Brown, Midland, Byrdie Daniels and husband Bob, of Abilene and Maybelle Trout of Eastland.

L. C. also leaves 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
