Obituary - Billy H. Bounds

Billy H. Bounds, 66, of Stamford passed away Monday, October 5, 1998 at Stamford Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ericksdahl. The Revs, Kent Wallace and Mel Swoyer officiated. Burial followed in the Bethel Lutheran Churyard Cemetery under the direction of Kinney Funeral Home of Stamford.

Billy H. Bounds was born on March 31, 1932 in Lueders. He was the son of Granville H. and Lizzie McAlister Bounds. He married Ethel Lunn on September 10, 1962 in Sweetwater, Texas. Mr. bounds was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the P.V.A. He served as one of the first members of the Special Forces Division during the Korean Conflick. Mr. Bounds was a lifetime resident of Jones County and a member of the Bethel Lutherfan Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Lunn Bounds of Stamford; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jennifer Bounds of Lubbock; his mother-in-law, Lillie Lunn of Stamford; one brother-in-law, Earl Lunn of Clyde; and one niece, Melody Snow of McKinney.

Active pallbearers were Harell Petty, Jimmy Harbert, Gene Bounds, Jack Bounds, Dale Taylor and Oscar Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Verble, Don Westfall and cousins.

Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.
