|In the late forties and early fifties Ida Red and The Kentuckians were working at Radio Station KWFT in Wichita Falls, Texas and they played at the surrounding schools and other facilities within a driving distances that allowed them to be on the radio once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Ida Red was married to Sugar Foot Collins who was the guitar player and clown in the band.
Another featured player in the band was PeeWee Stewart who played the fiddle standing on his head.
They played on stage in the gymnasium of Lueders High School on at least one occasion and may have been twice.
In 1986, Ray Smyth, Class of 53 was in Victorville, CA to visit the Roy Rogers Museum when he ran across Sugar Foot who was a one man band playing on stage in the Lounge area at the Ramada Inn.
While on stage he had recorded both sides of a cassette tape and gave it to Ray and the following links are both sides of the tape.
